Bonifacio, suspended above the sea
Perched on its white limestone cliffs, Bonifacio’s upper town seems to defy the sea. Its narrow lanes, ramparts and viewpoints make it an ideal place for a first date. The bravest can walk down the King of Aragon’s Stairway together, carved into the cliff face, before climbing back up to share a drink overlooking the harbour.
The Lavezzi Islands and turquoise waters
From Bonifacio harbour, boats sail to the Lavezzi Islands, a protected archipelago of sculpted rocks and crystal-clear water. A day of swimming and picnicking in this postcard setting creates shared memories from the very first dates. Further north, around Porto-Vecchio, Palombaggia beach and its umbrella pines are among the most beautiful on the island.
The Needles of Bavella
For a change of scenery, head up to the Bavella pass, where pink granite needles rise above the pine forests. The trails, suitable for all levels, offer striking panoramas, perfect for a hike followed by a mountain meal.
